Overview

Health Talks supports regional public health practitioner schemes to enable practitioners to develop portfolios demonstrating their knowledge and application against the standards required for UKPHR registration. The programmes combine structured training with individual feedback and ongoing support, helping practitioners understand the registration requirements, identify appropriate examples from their professional practice and develop the evidence required for their portfolios.

My Role

As a UKPHR facilitator, I provide training and individual portfolio support to practitioners across multiple regional schemes. My responsibilities include:

  • delivering interactive Portfolio Skills Workshops to practitioner cohorts;

  • supporting practitioners to understand and apply UKPHR standards to their own professional experience;

  • reviewing practitioners’ written work and providing detailed individual feedback on portfolio structure, content and evidence;

  • providing guidance on selecting and presenting appropriate application examples;

  • providing individual support and responding to practitioner questions between workshops;

  • adapting facilitation and support to different professional backgrounds, experience and learning needs; and

  • supporting practitioner cohorts in the East of England, Midlands and North West, alongside written portfolio review and feedback for practitioners in the North East, Yorkshire and Humber, and Wales.
